Description -:
          Saraii is a tourist destination, which promotes sustainable tourism. At Saraii we hope to allow guests to experience the ‘true essence of Sri Lanka in its unadulterated form’. We hope to give the guests an opportunity to enjoy and immerse them in a truly authentic ‘Sri Lankan’ experience.
The basic differentiation between Saraii and other guest establishments is that we provide a more natural form of tourism as opposed to packaged tourism. Saraii allows tourists to enjoy themselves while being responsible of their surrounding environment. It allows the tourists to make conscious choices about how they wish to spend their time at Saraii.
At Saraii, a tourist can expect to feel the fine balance between nature and good living. A tourist will be inspired to make their own choices, while being made to understand the impact they make on their surroundings, making their holiday a sustainable one.

Nearest transport -:
You can fly into Mattala (HRI) International Airport from Colombo International Airport or Ratmalana Airport.
Drive from Colombo to Matara on highway and get to Weerawila in about 3.30 - 4 hours
Take a train upto Matara and get to Weerawila in about 4.30 - 5 hours

 * Currently Saraii has Mud Chalets and Tree Houses and a Restaurant/Lobby area.

Child Policy -:
    Age – 00 to 05 free of charge on the basis booked.
    Age – 06 to 12 Accommodations free of charge sharing parent’s rooms without extra bed   maximum of 01 child & 50% discount on meal rates.
    Extra Mattresses - 10 USD per person

Tours -:
       Responsible tours can be arranged with reliable tour guides and safari guides for interested guests.
Safari Jeeps - Luxury / Normal can be arranged depending on guests requirement.

Driver & Tour Guide Accommodation -:
     Saraii Village will not be able to accommodate drivers and tour guides at Saraii Village premises. Such persons can be accommodated at a partner guest house located 400 meters away at a room rate of 6.50 USD / 800 LKR. (This rate is subject to change as per guest house agreement and will be informed to travel agent before arrival of guest)


Cancelation Policy -:
    Up-to 14 days notice from  date of reservation - 50% cancelation fee applies
    Up-to 7 days notice from date of reservation - 75% cancelation fee applies
    Less than 7 days notice from date of reservation or no show - 100% cancelation fee applies

Unforeseen Contingencies - Saraii Village reserves the right to offer alternate accommodation in the event of any unforeseen contingency.

         Saraii is an eco resort, set in a bio diverse rich agro forestry property, therefore it is impossible for us to assure our guests an environment free of the natural ecological makeup of the region. Our endeavour is to employ sustainable methods to minimize the unpleasant impacts of the natural eco system that could impair the comfort of our guests. For e.g. - Spraying of Citronella Oil as a natural mosquito repellant for minimizing mosquitos. Saraii aims to provide a unique sustainable eco friendly stay for responsible travelers that understand the importance of the “triple-bottom-line” and support this concept.          The Superior tree house is among Saraii's oldest tree houses with 2 floors providing room for 4 to 6 people. Built on a sturdy old Palu tree, the tree house is 25 feet high and lives up to its name and is known for giving its guests an immense feeling of safety high up in the leaves. Once you clamber up the ladder you will discover why it's also a guest favourite.
Perfect for families with kids, the Superior tree house is a favourite with every child who has stayed at Saraii and the child in every adult as well! Loved most for its view of the surroundings and the unbeatable sway of the tree every time the winds blow, The tree house is a popular choice of accommodation amongst eco lodges in Sri Lanka and is also great for groups who want to bunk down together.

Each tree house at Saraii has a little survival box from binoculars, a cool box and first aid kit with free Wifi thrown in for those who remain desperate for connectivity even on holiday. Description -:
        saraii's pioneers are now the Mud Chalet Suites. They are large and spacious with bigger than king-size beds and are perfect for the visitors wanting to stay grounded.
Our Mud Chalet Suites are cozily placed for comfort. One faces the rising sun and is surrounded by garden patches of organic fruits and vegetables. The other is tucked away in the corner of the man-made forest at Saraii which inspired its name.
Private and spacious with a fan for additional cooling the Mud Chalet Suites are best loved for their larger than king-size beds.
The cushioned outer porches of each suite at our eco lodge in Sri Lanka allows guests to put their heels up and just enjoy the surroundings or catch up on some reading. The original mud chalets are unique in how they are built, using the age old practice of mud walls which literally breathe. The Sri Lankan villager was a true expert at sustainable housing and Saraii learnt from the best. The walls absorb the cold and moisture at night which help keep the interior cool during the heat of the day. Each chalet also comes with a fan in case the natural cooling isn’t enough, a larger than king-size bed, mosquito netting, a cool box and a set of binoculars.
